Pretty Much Done..

Today felt like finishing the job so here's some progress. Seriously without mood, I cannot do it. That's why it is pretty slow progress. Plus I am a busy person (Ahaks!).

Paint stripping. Safety first! Glove only. Should wear long sleeve, long pants and something to cover up my face.

Old silicone that I used years ago had harden. So bought a new silicone sealant.

The RX3 grill had been resprayed to black color.

Here's the almost finish parts of RX3. Quite happy when it shine.

Fitting back the lense with new sealant.

Should be water-tight now.

Now only left the fitting of the cover and walla, it's new!

Some AutoSol will bring the shine back. Hopefully.

DIY : Tail Lamp Restoration.

Stuffs for this DIY process are:

*Spray can. Bought two silver and one black color.
*Autosol.
*Sand paper (400 and 1000)
*Paint stripper and brush.

Carefully remove the lenses as it will crack if you push it. Don't try your luck especially if its a pretty rare stuffs.

Clean all the stuffs and let it dry. Only after that you can judge if its restore able or not worth trying. In this case, everything are in good shape and I am pretty confident and with my previous experience, I can refurbish all of these hopefully. What make this project special is that the car sport a facelift of RX3, and to be exact the 10A facelift. Take note that the facelift itself cost thousands of Ringgit if you wanna buy it.

We manage to score a new set of front bumper signal. Thanks to the Ipoh trip and Wan DV for helping us sourcing stuffs.

Autosol is a great stuff. It can shine almost everything. This is due to its abrasive feature. What I don't like about it is that this thing eventually will 'polisht' up your skin too during the polishing process. Now I am in pain.

The cleaned lamp cover was sprayed to silver color to reflect the light bulb better.

And one of the worst thing I had experience was the paint removal of the bumper. Its my first time working with the paint removal and only after it touch my skin I know how corrosive this thing is! God I hate this thing. Time consuming and I only manage to do 1/3 of the bumper.

For the lenses restoration, what I did first was using the Autosol to rub off the top layer. I did my best for like two or three times before polishing it with Headlamp Polish. What differ these two polishing liquid are its abrasive grade. Autosol is pretty much coarse while the headlamp polish is fine. Shine effect can only be achieved after the fine grade of polish process.

Emblem done. For the second time, I manage to restore it again. Pretty happy with it.

My first attempt was two years ago. Heck, it was coincidence that both photo look similar!

The tail lamp cover. The right one had been restored to its glorious state while the left one havent. Cant do it today coz my hand hurt from too much exposure from Autosol.

Project RX808 : Began.

Anyway, the project had already began last week actually. Just I kept the story till I got some updates so that I can put some photos with it.

Here's the project car owner, Farhan. He owned the car and pretty much everything. So where did I fit in? The one who will finished the project with my creativity (Hopefully) with a budget given. We went to Ipoh to find some stuffs. Met him up there after my Pangkor trip.

He found a replacement hood for the car.

All the goodies I took back home.

Oh, I still haven't shared the car's photo. Here it is. Currently still in Perak for bodywork process. While waiting, I can restore all the parts.

I hope I can finished the project this time.With this, I am pleased to tell y'all that my old blog of Bumble Bee is gonna filled with the car's process.

I guess this is the end of me with her. I hope the new owner will continue the project and making her more attractive and hopefully he'll take a good care of the car. Just got the deposit and once a full payment is made, I shall give the grant to the new owner and also this blog space to the new owner in case he's interested to continue this diary.

A bit hard for me to let Bee's go. Got a lot of good and bad memory with the car. From the first breakdown until the latest one. LOL. How sweet the memory when Mok and me was dating with the car and the experience of doing repairs and undoing repairs with the car is good.

Time for me to move on. The next car? Unknown. No plan yet. Just want to focus on getting some money first before finding a new one.

DIY : Engine Mounting.

Had nothing to do today, so I force myself to change the engine mounting so that the car will be drivable again. It's a sunny weather today. Quite rare in this month to have a sunny day. Did this from 4.30pm till 7pm. Haha. What I really excited was I did it myself. Without anyone helping. So, plus one into my own experience. Hehehe.

Here's the old rubber mounting. Sliced into half.

Jacking the engine. Using whatever tools that I have.

I removed the water hose, the battery and also the mounting. The hardest part was to remove the bolt due to lack of space. Took me around 1 hour to remove it.

Went to a local spare part shop, got myself a new rubber mounting. And on the right is the fucked up one.

And another 1 hour to fit in the new rubber mounting and adjusting the engine's height to fit it in. Urgh. Really not a good area to work. Too small till cant fit in my hands.

After that, refill back some water into the radiator, put back the battery, and try to start it. Yeah, it worked! And no vibration too. Test drove it and went back to the spare part shop. Initially I just wanted to exchange the starter that I bought the other day with something else, but the owner was kind enough to refund me. Wow, that's something rare also today. I bought a rubber ring to hang up my exhaust, and a H4 bulb for the lamp.

And in case nobody's buying the car, I bought a set of lug nuts for my rear rims. Its a special nut coz the nut have spacer and specially design to fit the rim and not 'boring' the rim holes. Also applied for SSR MKI and etc. And by next month, if nobody's buying the car, I'll send the car to do a proper wiring job, and maybe sending the car to paint shop? Who knows. Huahua.

Something That's Not So Funny..

What is happening to Bee right now? This is what's happening. Noticed anything different?

Hmmmm. Time to move on perhaps? S13? A31? 910? AE70? TE71? KE70? RX7? I know what's the best solution! Stay away from em'! Hahahahaha. Oh, Im starting to lose my patience. Slowly, and one at a time. Hmmm.

Time To Get Dirty.

Yeah, most probably coz I bought myself a set of tools. Consist a sockets set, Philips and flat head screw driver, a spanar set or whatever you call it, a cutter, and a tool box. Yeay, my semester will be filled with DIY session.

Leaking. Hmmm.

Seriously I cant stand the heat that enter the inside of the car anymore. So back to basic, I'm fitting back the carpet.

After a few minutes, done! Less heat on the floor, less noise and looks much better.

And sealing the wiper area with silicone. I asked Im808 to seal off the vent. I'm doing for a good reason, so that there's no more rain water entering and damaging the firewall.

And its time to fit in back the offset rim. With bald tires!

How's da fitment? I think OK OK only. Need a trimming when I'm painting the car I guess.

Low enough? Oh, anyone noticed that I remove the flare? Wanna sell it. Huahua.

Not Powerful Enough.

Yep. Not the engine, but the starter. I cant really just crank to start Bee's engine. Im808 told me that the starter is not powerful enough to crank the flywheel (Did I said it right?) due to high compression, so he suggested to change to a high speed starter. Well, this few days, my method to start the engine is by push start. Not the push buton, but to manually push the car!

So, there goes a hundred plus of mine to buy this high speed starter. From Proton Wira. Suppose to fit my engine.

Since I am too lazy to do it myself, I send the car to the workshop and let they do it. So, fitting time.

And what the hell, it didn't fit! Argh, I need to sell the starter since I cant use it. It is for Wira, a reckon brand (I forgot the name), and 3months warranty from the shop. RM120 nett. I didnt take a singe cent of untung. Do tell me if you want it.

And guess what, the main problem was the battery. LOL. After changing to a brand new battery, wallah! Done. No more crank problem. No more ehek-ehek, everything is working normally. Even the old starter. One thing that I can said that time was, FUCK. There goes my money on the starter. Hahaha.

Anyway, the other things that is in my concern now, is a leaking from the bottom of the engine. Hmm. Possible location when I checked yesterday was from the gearbox oil seal, the oil sump gasket, or maybe from the half moon (What is that?). So, will send the car back to Im808 once he's free from activity. Under warranty yo~

What happened to me on Monday..

2pm - Went to JPJ to renew my road tax.
3pm - Done with JPJ thingy and Im on my way to Pudu to take a bus to Ipoh.
4pm - Reached and by 4.30pm Im on the bus.
8pm - Arrived in Ipoh. Wan Dreamers Vault pick me up and we went to his house.
10pm - Im808 arrived and he picked me up to Sungai Siput which is around 40km away from Ipoh.
11pm - Arrived at his house, get a few things fixed up and the car is ready! Yay. Im808 brief me up bout the car.

12am - Its Tuesday, and Im ready to go back to KL. Will took me 200km to reach KL.
3am - I am 70km away to reach KL and suddenly the car break down. No lights, no rev, nothing. Fuel pump and electric fan is out. I panicked and park the car on the roadside. Its dark, there's no car nearby and Im alone. Muahaha.
3.30am - Called the PLUS Peronda and they arrived. Towed me to the nearest R&R and I slept in the car till morning.
7am - A highway foreman came and try to fix and he blame the wiring for the failure of fuel pump and electric fan. He fixed it and there's no spark in the distributor. He gave up and towed me to the nearest workshop.
9am - Arrived, went for my breakfast and wait for the foreman to come.
10am - They started to find the problem source and found out that the contact point already out and one fuse already blow. Hahaha. The first foreman didn't check out the fuse.
12pm - I'm on my way back to KL with a hope the car will not break down again.
2.30pm - Arrived! Safe and sound!

Total traveling time : 13 hours for 200km trip! One hell of experience.

Early in the morning. I noticed that Bee's rear end sits much lower than front now.

I'm busy! That's the reason the blog is left for a while. Anyway, I'm in my final week for my study time. And after that it will be another final examination again. Huhu. One more semester to go! Weee.

Anyway, met with Mr. Redzone today with his 808 wagon. I miss my 808. Damn~ And this wagon is up for sale. Maybe can drop me a comment if any of you are interested with the wagon.

Anyway, the point of seeing him is to get my new stuffs for my 808. And taraa. A set of harness again. And this time, its Cobra brand. Super colorful, like Google theme. Old school type I think. Anyway, how do I assemble and wear this harness? Its 4-point, but there's no buckle. Any idea?

And finally, saw this JDM goodness. Was having my dinner at Mali, and this car was looking for a parking space. Must be imported. Love this Civic! I think it must be imported from US, maybe.

Hahaha. Conclusion that I can made from this pic is.. Flatbed must be cheaper than towing at Ipoh. Maybe? Or is it becoz of the expired road tax? I'd noticed that the rear suspension is lower than front. Oh well, I miss the car so much. Apart from the sad case of breaking up, this is the one that cheer me up for now.

Body Work..

First of all, thanks to Wan DV of Retro Syndicate for the pictures. I'm guessing the car will be ready by another weekend. From this photos, the results is 'less ideal' than what I expected, or maybe I should wait till I pick up the car. Then maybe I can give some comments. Overall, the body job does make my car more 'beaten' looks. I guess its time for me to keep more money for paint job.

The fender had been aligned back and fitted again. Unfortunately the front fender didn't get the flaring job. Tsk tsk. I'll be using the wide flare back I guess.

And the rear fender got the 'wide' concept. Rims & tyres from Din. Thanks to him the car arrived in one piece.

The main problem of retro Mazda is water seeping inside the wiper area. Well, I hope this will last for a while.

Hargh. Finally. Home sweet home. Gosh, its hard to adapt to non familiar surrounding such as village area and their condition? Was kinda dirty if you asked me. That's my cousin's home. Har har har. How dirty is it? Well, my whole leg had been bitten with this small creature called pepijat I think. Itchy, swollen and anoyying. Damn.. Well, cant complaint much since its not my home.

Anyway, I arrived after 14hours of driving. From Kelantan to Terengganu, then to Pahang, and finally my home. Two sleep-rest, and countless unnecessary stop. And another thing that I bought home is.. Stomach ache! Yep, too much food till food poisoning. But I love the Nasi Dagang! Duit raya that I got is getting lesser and lesser year by year. Its hard to accept that Im getting older. This is the suckest raya ever. Apart from breaking up, some of my relatives didn't come back too. Boredom was killing me there.

Anyway, new stuff for Bee is a 4-point harness. Bought two sets the other day. The black one is for Josh, and the red one is mine. Sorry Josh, yours already opened when I took it, so I use it to take a photo. Hehehe. Still brand new mah!

And after the last MMS that I received from Im808, this is the latest one. Showing that most of the rusty area had been fixed. And the fender is currently going some shaping treatment I think.

Remember my fucked up firewall? No more now.
Oh, I think I need to realize something that I had been focusing too much on my car till Mok is bored and leaving. So I guess, no more car topic when I got a chance to talk to her. I hope there's still chances left for me. Oh, how I wish I can turn back the time. Hope. Hope. Too much hope till it sounds like hopeless.

Scrap Huntin' Raya Edition.

After a few times (Tutup Raya maa!) visiting the same scrapyard, today I went again and lucky me, the shop is open. So, went to find a few stuffs. Not lucky me, most of the wanted stuffs had already been taken by Kamachi. Chet. The shop that I visited just now is one of the Kamachi's supplier. All Weber, rims, and rare stuffs had been taken by them. Haiya..

Since the owner of the shop had been following & helping me finding stuffs, its kinda rude if I didn't buy anything. So, just took this steering which is from Datsun and also this Honda Mugen spoiler. The EG hatchback one. Still got the Mugen emblem too. And come and guess the prices?

I guess I'll try to alter the tapak for the spoiler, and the steering will be refurbish and will be used for drifting purpose since my current one has too much offset till not suitable for fast steering work. Prices again? Less than a single purple note. Damn good buy I guess.

And finally, one and only 808 that I found during my Raya's trip. A coupe with TS Cup looks. Already chat with the owner, and he gave me the scrapyard location. I'll definitely will come back to the scrapyard next year!

Gosh I miss my car soo much. Im808 said the car will be done by next week....End. Sigh. I guess you cant rush perfection right? Kekeke.

Weber For Bee.

Never came to my mind of using this kind of carburetor, but when I was at Ipoh, someone had offered me this carburetor with a good price. I was thinking for a few days, before finally, I made my mind to take it. But unfortunately, the Weber that I bought is the smallest one in the catalog, a DGAV 32/32. A progressive one. Just wanna have an experience with this kind of carburetor. It will not be used yet, as I'm short of fund. So, I'll just wrap it up, and keep in my display closet. Lol. Item is still at Ipoh and I'll collect it once my Bee is done.

So this is how a DGAV Weber looks like. Internet picha though. This one is 32/36 maybe.

Any ideas how much this stuffs usually cost? Just wanna know the market price. Any Weber advice? The Weber that I bought was incomplete according to the owner. He just completed all the stuffs and assemble it back. Serviced it and was put on sale coz he needs some urgent money. It comes with a tapak, but it is for A14 Datsun. So, I didn't take the tapak coz Im808 said I cant use it. So I'll try the new engine with normal carburetor and then I'll switch to Weber. I hope there's a significant improvement. Hope so. If not, will give it to Jaguh. Pinjam only aaa...

So, this is the DGAV series when disassembled. So many stuffs in a single Weber.

1 or 2 more weeks before Bee is done. The engine wise is done. And the body job is in progress now. Sigh, I miss driving a manual car.

Bee's Rollcage.

Just now I went to Jaguh's house and to see the roll cages with my own eyes. Jaguh had done the half cage and will be doing the extension for the front parts next week so that it will become a full cage. And the detailing job is still not done yet. And after testing it, I think there is a lot of improvement such as body roll elimination, stiffer body, and I can feel every vibration of the car.

Overall, I think it is good. About mass producing it, I think it will be a bit pricey coz Jaguh is using an expensive type of steel pipe. I forgot the details and the reason of using this particular steel tube is because there is a FIA rules stated about using the particular steel tube type for making cages. Meaning that the cages is somehow FIA certified. Lol.

And after talking bout the cost of making the cages with Jaguh, this is the design that I want for my half cage. It will be cheaper than Jaguh's one coz this design will be using less pipe, less bending and less welding job too. Anyway, this is a half cage for 808 sedan. From Australia. I'll be using the bolt type too.

And with my extra income of RM50 courtesy of the mag, I'll need to find a way to add my budget. Will sort up my stuffs that can be sell soon. Any comments for the half cage?

Ipoh Trip : Bee's Engine Almost Done!

I went to Ipoh yesterday to see the latest update on my Bee. When I arrived at the toll exit, Im808 guide me to the Underground Garage. Arrived, my first impression was, "Walao, very undergroundlah this place." I thought the place was a shop lot. LOL.

Anyway, even though the place looks creepy and weird, my main reason of sending my car here is because they had been working on Mazda 808 quite some time which mean they have more experience on this particular species. This is 808 heaven. You can find most of 808 parts you want here coz they had been scrapping more than 10 units of 808.

This is Im808's ride. With 1.6l engine inside, there's no way he's driving it slow. I always get left behind when following him. Oh, where's my Bee? Im808 keep it at his college. According to him, it is much safer to keep my car there rather than keeping it here. Plus, the body shop is near the college, so that's another reason.

Here's Bee's engine block looks like. The crank pulley nut is stucked by the way, so cant remove it yet. The oversize pistons had been ordered, and the block will be send to the foundry once the ordered pistons arrived. The block will be painted too. Im thinking of making a Lego color scheme by the way.

And this is the engine's head. Quite dirty eh?

And after some grinding process, here's how the head looks.

And let the porting and polishing process began. This is my first ever experince on porting and polishing process, even looking also first time. So, I was kinda jakun back there and ask so many question to Im808. Lol.

Even the exhaust outlet also had been ported.

The dirt on the valve was super stubborn. It tooks quite an effort for Im808 to grind it.

The almost finish product. I am proud of myself coz Im808 let me grind the outer part of the head till it shine. I love detailing job anyway. Shiny eh?

Square tail lamp of Im808 just like mine. I was drooling all over it coz this is the most 'original' set I had ever seen. Almost looks like NOS. And sadly, not for sale. Big thanks to Im808 for collecting a lot of 808 relics. There's a room in the house that is full of 808 stuffs. How to imagine eh? It's like when you assemble everything back into the chassis, you will get a few unit of Mazda 808 back.

Bee's flywheel that will be skimmed so that it will be lightened too.

I was thinking why the hell this rotten 808 was there. Until Im808 asked me to pop up the hood..

What the fook!? 13B engine with IDA Weber yo! Damn, this car is super sleeper and 100x more cooler than mine once the car is done. Owner is still looking for a new chassis. Drool time again.

Anyway, some changes in plan for Bee is, she's getting a new set of side mirror that will be much better looking, a hood scoop taken from Mira L5 to be fitted onto Bee's hood (Rotary wannabe yo!), and also this kind of lip called Go Fast from Jeya. This lip was meant to be for KE70, but Im808 wanna try to force fit it. If it is successfull, I'll be taking a unit too. Any comment guys?

A lot of trimming work will be needed I think.

We are aiming for another three weeks for the car to be finished 100%. I want to run in the engine quickly before the Olskool Cup event that will be held at MIMC this 10th of October.

Gosh, what a busy week! Full of assignments, test, lab reports and etc. Damn, I hate 3rd year. Im had been constantly updating me with Bee's update. Here's one of the MMS that I received from him.

Checking out the engine compression I think.

So what is the problem with Bee actually? The 3rd piston has a low compression which mean the inner parts had been damaged badly. (Did I said it right? XD) Engine had been taken out and everything had been disassembled. That's is all from this week as Im808 is also busy with Zero 2 Hero TV show. He's one of the participant.

Jaguh and me will be going to Ipoh next weekend. I really miss Bee and why does Jaguh wanna follow? Coz he'll taking some measurement for Bee's interior. For what? Check out the next post.

Din told us that he wanna try the MARDI drift track last Saturday so off we go to the track. We are among the earliest to arrived that day. Its quite good to arrived early since the pros usually played on night time. Which gave us a good time to practice more.

And after removing all tools and tyres, off we go to the track. As usual, Din usually wanted us to drove first and me also as usual, muka tak malu volunteer to be the first to test the track.

And at the starting line. A big thanks to Din for letting us use his car. Just wait till our car is ready to drift. We'll let you drive our car too.

And off we go.

And as usual, here's my warm up run. It really need a high speed entry for the first big corner which Din's KE70 didnt have the power to tackle the first one. Kinda lame but what the hell, we just wanna have some fun and to learn more about drifting. Its better to be on the track with a not powerful car rather than having a super drift spec car BUT just to park on a drift event.

And woops! Somebody crashed with Din's KE70. Har har har. Its Jaguh, not me. Gegege. Its normal, it is called shit happened all the time mate! Hope Din didnt get angry with this.

And last Saturday is my last day with Bee. Din again was kind enough to lend me his rim and a set of good tyres as she will be on a long journey. I didnt have enough $ to buy a proper tyres. There goes my offset rims.

Looks sissy from this side. Wide fender, non-offset rim. Just a precaution step for the journey.

A few stuffs to be taken to Ipoh. A few big bottles of water, an engine oil, spark plug T, and Bee's unused stuffs.

And there's Im of Underground Garage Ipoh ready to take Bee to Ipoh. Will be seeing Bee in a month maybe.

Again, my mom agree to top up a few more hundreds to spend on the bodywork and aircond. So, Bee will have a nice fitment on the fender area coz I already ask Im to make a custom arches and a full body work. Anyone interested with my wide flare? Im not using it anymore. Im asking RM250 nego. It will fit like a glove for Mazda 808. Gimme a call if you are interested.

DIY : Lowering Block And It Hurts!

Gosh, I was super busy till I totally forgotten bout my blog. With the super stupid P1 Wimax that disconnected every 5 minutes, how da hell I wanna update!? Plus with my tight class schedule, that make it worse. Man, I need a day to rest. It was suppose to be today, a day free from my Bee.

And I had decided not to take the 3T and the Libero axle. The owner want the T50 gearbox that come along with the engine, so it will be more trouble for me to source one soon. And the Libero? Too much stuffs need to be made first before it can be plugged in. Solution?

I bought Wad's 808 spare axle. Gosh, this particular axle is so rare that I need to have a spare axle if Im going to lock the other one.

The extra leaf. I wish I can fit all of em in my car to stiffen it.

And the reason I bought it? It came with a custom made lowering block and a longer U bolt to hold the leaf.

Mr Jaguh came to help. I really appreciate it. Thanks bro. Still not recover from the accident, and yet he came to help me.

And my brother suddenly wanna help around. So I asked him to loosen up the bolt. Until..

Bam! The leaf stressed out, and my brother's finger was stuck between the leaf and the jack, so I rushed to the clinic. The doctor said maybe his finger was already dislocated, so X Ray needed.

X Ray time. Luckily the doctor is very friendly dude, and so thus the nurse. Hehehe.

The nurse cleaning up the deep cut. Quite hot eh?

And, thanks to Jaguh, the block was fitted by the evening while I was at the clinic.

Done! Right side only.. Left side? Next time~

And if everything goes as I plan, my Bee will be send to Ipoh next week for a major job. I really cant wait for the day!

The workshop's plans are:

*Up the capacity till 1.6l (Did I said it correctly?)

*Weld the axle

And, I hope my budget is enough. Around RM 2k plus. And a full bodywork in Ipoh too maybe if the budget is sufficient. Anyone wanna sponsor me? Hehehe.

DIY : New Bearing.

Since the weekend is coming, I have set a few plan for Bee. The old bearing had been making a lot of noise lately. So, it needs a replacement, and so thus the naked bodypart need to be covered back with the damaged fender.

I returned home after I finished my class and called Jaguh to come. And since Jaguh is handicapped (LOL!), he was only instructing me and help a lil bit. Talking bout doing it myself make me proud. Har har har. At least I learned about a few stuffs today. What's the point of having a toy car if you didnt try to fix it yourself?

So, lets remove the tyre first.

Remove the inner bolt and the hub.

And its time to remove the bearing. I thought there was only one bearing, and turn out there was 2 of em. Both need to be replace.

We went to the spare part shop and get the new bearings. And I bought a new third brake lamp too.

After everything had been assembled back, Jaguh was doing the wiring and me?

I was painting the inner fender area with antirust paint.

And assembling back the fender. Unfortunately, it does not fit well and you can see the gap. Morale of the story, dont roll you fender unless your car spareparts is plenty. As for me? Where can I find a new set of it? Argh.. Anyway, thanks to Jaguh Autoworks for supervising me today.

Hmm, Im thinking of buying this particular axle. It is taken from a Mitsubishi Libero. Full lock and the ratio is 3.9. Since it was from a Mazda 808, I'll just need to plug and play it only. The axle is 4inch wider so my Bee will be more wider for rear.

Dunno whether it is a LSD or welding axle. A pro 808 mechanic said that my current axle ratio is 4.1. And Jaguh said that my car cant move very well with 3.9 ratio. Aiyak~ So which one should I listen? Any comment from you guys?

Latest updates:

I bought an advertising board at a nearby book store and it is much easier to work on this board. And I decided to cover the whole area instead of putting it inside. Talking bout the laziness to measure it again.

Sketching on the board to make sure there is no senget-ness, and other probs. The side is covered with some tape to strengthen the board.

Holes for the gauges, the gauges and more tape on the board. My new RPM meter is from Jasma and it is a bit bigger than the AutoGauge. It comes with a stepper motor, warning light, and opening/closing ceremony which is not so important to me. Most important to me, it that the RPM is working.

Few cut, this and that, and it is done. Add up a sticker to make it more 'cheerful'. Now I have a vacuum meter, RPM, and also a volt meter. Will assemble it tomorrow and a photoshoot session.

It's been awhile since my last update coz I dont have any mood on updating the latest project. Hehehe. Sigh, Im returning to UTM next week and Im not ready for the new semester. I want to stay at home and do more project on Bee. Huhuhu. Anyway, the Autobot stickers and Mazdaspeed wannabe sticker. Wee.

Already stick the Mazdaspeed sticker but I still cant decide where should I place the Autobot logo. Any idea?

While Mok was designing the gauges board, my roomate came for a sticker job. He just painted his car and interested with the Mini theme. So why not? At least I gain more experience on sticker job. Measuring and marking time.

End results! Looks good from far. Har har har.

Then there's Mr Jaguh Autoworks in action. Seriously if you asked me, wiring job is the hardest coz I cant imagine the wiring logic. LOL~ I failed my electric subject anyway.

My aircond fan that had not been working since my aircond motor gone. So, I asked Jaguh to do some wiring so that I can make it working for some extra air suction as an aid for the radiator fan. And luckily, I got one unused switch on the dashboard.

OEM with the dashboard. I wonder what is the original use of the switch?

The custom panel by Mok. Unfortunetaly the license plate is really weak and it broke into two after 1 gauge hole was made. So I will buy an advertising plastic board as it is much easier to work on,much lighter and reliable.

As for the radiator shrout, it was cut into two as the fan is big and the distributor are really close to the radiator. The shrout was meant for Vannete C22/ A15 engine, and my radiator luckily is from the A15 engine also. Previous owner love to mix and match I think.

The top shrout fits like a glove. LOL. As for the rear, Jaguh cut it into another half and only fit the right side only. So now Bee has a much better cooling system. Two working fan, one can be controlled from the inside, another one is direct (Im thinking of switching to a clutch fan soon), a shrout to channel the air, and I hope it works.

And I bought an Autogauge for the RPM. Unfortunetaly again, it is malfunctioning and it is not accurate at all, so I will exchange it tomorrow for a Jasma one.

My pet, Bujur (Oval) was sleeping on the couch while Im updating this post. Manage to woke him up with the flash. Gosh, this little creature is very cute.

Just a few infos from the internet. Need to do some research coz Bee's engine is not 1.3, its 1.4. So more questions were popped. What is the engine code? From what car? So, first I checked the grant and found out the engine code is UC.

From what I found on the Wikipedia:

The 1973 Familia Preso featured a 1272 cc engine. It was sold as the Mazda 808 in some export markets such as New Zealand and Australia and Asia Pacific markets and Mazda 818 in many others (presumably due to the usage of numbers with a middle zero by Peugeot for its automotive models). In Japan this model is also known as the Mazda Grand Familia and its top line model is a 2 door coupé with twin round headlamp and a rotary powered engine known as the RX-3.

This generation was available in coupé, sedan, and station wagon forms. Engines were inline 4 cylinders and included a 1272 cc, a 1490 cc, and a 1586 cc option.

Engines:

1973-1976 - 987 cc I4, 50 hp (37 kW)/56 ft·lbf (77 N·m)
1970-1973 - 1.3 L (1272 cc) TC I4, 2 barrel, 69 hp (51 kW)/67 ft·lbf (92 N·m)
1973-1976 - 1.6 L (1586 cc) I4, 80 hp (60 kW)/91 ft·lbf (124 N·m)

Malaysian version of 808 should be running on a 1.3L engine with the TC engine code. Unless yours is a Mazda RX3, then it will be a rotary 12A inside.

And from Wikipedia, it is known that the UC series are:

1.4 L (1416 cc, 86 cu in) (77x76 mm) - A larger-bored version of the TC, used in the 1978-1980 Mazda GLC. Produced 70 hp (52 kW). Was also used in the E1400 Bongo van and the 1984-87 Ford Econovan. Has been mistakenly called a D4 engine in some documentations and parts catalogues.

So, problem solved! The previous owner had swapped the original engine with a Ford Econovan/ Mazda Bongo's engine. I hope most of the spare part shop still have the overhaul set for the engine. Should I overhaul now or wait first? Hehehehe. I love my money. Kekekeke.

"Fuwahh!" is the only words that came out when we (Mok & me) arrived at the cinema area. Guess what, the cinema is full on a working day! All Transformers show from 10am till 12am was sold out! Of course we tried to get in the queue and thought of buying a ticket for tomorrow's show and we were lucky coz there's one couple seat left for today's so we took it. Hahaha. My luck I guess.

My score for the movie? 11/10! Yes, no doubt it is the BEST movie ever made and it is worth more than RM10 per movie. We will be watching it again on Imax, in a 3D version. Just go and watch it for yourself, it is really worth watchin it and full of action in 2hours plus. Awesome, awesome. That's all I can say when Im in the cinema.

Go watch it! Go! And please dont buy the pirates DVD, you wont get thrilled and enjoyed it coz there's a lot of animation and I can bet you the DVD version will failed you.

Some goodies from the cinema and Petronas. This will go to my collection vault. Hehehe.

The car was prepared just for the movie! Flare back on, new rims, and 3piston symptoms is back! More sign to do overhaul.

Bumble Bee in the movie is very funny and emo. I guess mine is same. Kekekeke. 3piston running also still went to the Jusco for the movie.

The butt. I wish the car is in good condition. Another 3-5years perhaps.

This week's project is ready to go! Main project is the DIY gauges panel. Here's some materials, a drawing board, an empty plate number, gauges, and etc as shown.

Some rough sketches on the drawing board. Old school vacuum meter is fitted here.

New replacement flare from PlayHouse Garage. They accidentally gave me a pair of right fenders only, so they gladly replaced it. Good attitude seller and the fenders have been sanded. Why? Will fit it back becoz..

Just got myself a pair of Wedsports! 13' only with 7jj and -1 offset. Hehehe. 7jj is the reason I took it.

And a bee figure. LOL~ Will remove the spring and replace with a mounting cup and rope. Where should I place it?

Shop Visit : Exhaust Shop.

Bee sounds too loud this few days, so we decided to visit a nearby exhaust shop which is known for its cheapness and quality. So, up up she goes.

Main problem? Rusty center bullet. I guess its life ends today. RIP; 1977 - 2009.

Solution? Cut em up and there goes a straight pipe! And since we were already at a exhaust shop, why not try it? Try what? Check this out.

Taraa. A bend exhaust tip. I know it do looks fuckin weird from this angle due to its angle. Will make a new piping soon so that the tip will be 90degree from the body.

But from this angle, it does looks good. And I think Jaguh also wanna do the bent exhaust tips. Why not? Right?
The shop? Wei Yip. I guess most of us in KL might now this shop. They have a few branch but we went to the Balakong area. The manager in charge is very friendly. To custom the tip, it tooks him 5-6times and almost 30minutes altering the tip's angle and to have a customer like me usually it means more details needed and yes, they are good at it. They will do it until we are satisfied. And I recommend this shop to you! Plus one for the shop. We will be coming again soon.

Asu was kind enough to lend me his camera and tools. And I got the opportunities to learn more about external flash and the experience of using a Nikon D80, which is 10x more better than my current D40, and also the long lens that he's using.

So, here's some. We'll be going for a photoshoot this Sunday. Along with Asu and another talented photographer, Rev. Who's car? Bee and Jaguh's KEtam.

DIY : Tail Lamp Restoration Project. Done!

Yep, the last part of the project. It is time consuming, but you can see the results now. And coincidentally, there are a few friends came to my house today for a visit. We'll go through later. And here is the tail lamp that I'd restored with so much love and care. LOL~

And who else to rely if not on Mr Jaguh, the big boss. Gosh, I wish everyone I knew is like him. Dash fitting process. Also time consuming coz troubleshooting the board circuit.

And the special guests of the day were, Asuramaru from Kelantan! He called me whether Im free or not, so I said we were fitting the tail lamp, so he said he'll come, and I pick him up at the nearby train station. He's the photographer of the day today.

And the other one is Afiq. One of my blog reader. Kelantanese also. Everyone came to see Jaguh in action. Kekekeke.

While Jaguh was fitting the meters, we were assembling back the tailies. Here's Asu in action. He's friendly and easy to get along with.

Then, Jaguh the expert was doing the wiring.

Done! Here's the new Bee. Oh, the emblem is too bulky so we decided not to fit it in.

And the new tailies. I guess I made a right desicion buyin it. Looks more 'muscle' now. Time to focus on a good wheels! Next! =P

DIY : Tail Lamp Restoration Project. Part 2.

Yep, second day of the DIY project. Woke up late at 1pm and while taking bath, I took the oppurtunity to sand the surface so that old paint, dirt and all kind of other shit will be washed away. Dried it up and it is ready to be painted.

Thank God today's weather is sunny. Im using a flat black can spray and for a gloss finish I used the clear coat so that it will be scratch resistant.

While waiting for it to dried up, I went to have my lunch and polishing the lens, and also AutoSol-ing the emblem one more time.

Taraa. Bee's has a black eye now. Dunno who had punched her in the eye. LOL.

Since everything had dried up, I went back to my room and its fitting time. Put the lens all back to the cover.

To seal the lens from outside moist, I used the silicone. Its kinda hard to make it perfect but dont worry if you had screwed it up. Once the silicone had dried, it becomes a rubber seal. You can just simply pull it.

Some final touch up. Paint marker to do a 'fake' chrome lining as most of the chrome lining had already fade and no hope to be restored. This is the hardest part. It is time consuming.

After three hours, this is the results. Of course I do made some mistakes, but its normal for a human to do it. For a safety measure, spray a few clear coat layer so that the fake chrome will not fade.

Assembled everything back together and it is now ready to be fitted onto Bee! Anyway, which one should I use? Hmmm.

DIY : Tail Lamp Restoration Project. Part 1.

Okay, to be honest, Im really excited with the new stuffs that I had bought. So, Im not gonna waste my night time. First lets see the new tail lamp. Covered in dust and only one single crack. Im satisfied with the purchase. And it is sold quite cheap in my opinion.

My next step was to remove the cover from the lens. It was really hard as some of the screw had already in super rusty condition and some of em had no Philips head anymore. What I did was cursed it, then try unscrew it. Failed, I cursed it again and pull it as strong as I can BUT be careful with the old plastic cover so that it didnt break. Some of em just broke into pieces some of em still attached to the cover.

Now, remove the lens. BUT please be extra careful especially if the lens is crack like this one. I had broke it anyway. Now it is in 2 pieces. Hehehe. I'll super glue it tomorrow. =P

Clean it up with a strong current of water and some soap.

Then, dried it up and it is now ready to be sprayed with a flat black tomorrow.

Next! My current tail lamp. What I really like about this tail lamp is the hexagon reflection in the lens. It really does fit my car theme anyway. But, it is too common nowadays. XD

And this one was easy to be removed. Most of the screw had been replaced anyway.

Clean it up with the same method shown above and dried it up. And it is ready to be spray tomorrow too!

Meanwhile, this is the badge that I had bought. Covered in dust, and no hope to be restored anyway. BUT...

With the help from AutoSol, it is shining now! Wow, never knew that AutoSol can be use on a plastic chrome surface. This is the hardest job today. I was polishing it six times I guess. Tomorrow I'll AutoSol it a few more times.

And finally, the meters. The measurement is in Miles though. I need to check my Math book first to convert it to Km/H. LOL~

Same steps and method too. Except I didnt wash the meters as it will damage it. Clean it up and dried it. And now it is ready to be assemble in Bee!

Shop Visit : Oldschool's Heaven Round 2!

Guess what? I went to scrapyards again! Since the business is running good, Im spending some of it for Bee's parts. And again, the mission was to find a pair of fenders, but other items were found. LOL~ The first scarpyard is located at Chan Sow Lin area but there's no Mazda parts there. Sigh.

So, where else to head? We went to the previous scrapyard and were hoping BIG that there's a pair of the fenders. Hahaha. Arrived, Jaguh saw a bulk of meters which we didnt see it before, and the search begun. What we found was :

3 sets of Mazda 808 speedometer. There's more but these three is enough. We asked the boss for a price and he gave us a good price. I put it aside and search a few more stuffs.

And the next stuffs were the tail lamp. Yes, I dont need it and I'd said it but I found out that some of the RX3 were using this tail lamp. So why not? And the second tail lamp is tagged as Mazda 808 parts. And I were shocked coz I never saw this tail lamp version. We checked it out and it belongs to Toyota. I guess someone had custom fit it to 808. It is nice but I dont want to take any risk during fitting it. Anyone knew the tail lamp is from what model?

And an emblem. This is from the square lamp grille version. The boss didnt want to sell it separately but after a few bodek-ing, he sold it to me BUT the dirtier one. Nehh, its OK. It is VERY VERY cheap for this rare stuffs.

Arrived at my home, Jaguh helped me to disassemble Bee's current tail lamp. And trying to fit in the shrout. We'll do it another time I guess as we arrived at my home quite late.

Uhh, I guess my room will be a store soon. 2 in 1 room.

So, my new stuffs are the tail lamp. Will refurbish both tail lamps tomorrow I guess.

A new functioning meters. I guess my RX-Z speedometer will be a history soon.

Was browsing the Internet and found out a few good looking Mazda 808. And I think there's a few stuffs that Im interested to copy. Hey, Im not a copycat! Just wanna have something different on Bee.

The first one is the black bumper on the yellow 808. Looks like my Bee too! XD And the plate number on the left is a good idea too. But a steel plate will good even better I guess.

Square tail light and the bent muffler. Really love it. You can usually found it on a Mazda RX3.

Anymore ideas? Jaguh please comment~ Interested with the tail light? Hehehe.

Shop Visit : Oldschool's Heaven!

Today I went to a scrapyard! Yay! A new achievement in my life. LOL~ Anyway back to the story, the mission was to find a pair of a god-damn Mazda 808 fenders. The scrapyard was located somewhere in Ulu Yam. Yep, that's very far from my house. And of course Jaguh was with me. Before we arrived here, we saw a few Mazda 808 on the road. One at a chopshop and the other one was at a workshop.

We stopped at this two location. The first one, we asked the chopshop tokey but he said its not his and I already tought of stripping a few stuffs on the car since every badge and etc is complete. Second shop? Well, it belongs to an uncle. Hargh, again dissapointed. So after a few calls for a direction, we arrived to this scrapyard, which I already forgot the shop's name. Hehehe. And if you asked me, this is a HEAVEN despite everything there were messy, not in order and kampung theme.

And it was raining... Fuh, it was like in a movie, a horror one. So, we asked the boss for a 808's fender, and yes they have it! Went to the location, and dissapointed again. Yes, they have it. ONE piece and rusty. Chet.

Again dissapointed, we went to see some tail lamps. A few pairs of 808's tailight. I was very tempted to buy the rectangular tail light for 808, but there's no point of me buying it since my tail light is still in good condition. So off we went to search other stuffs while Im thinking a list of stuffs that my car doesnt have. Was looking for a center console but they dont have it, and a few other stuffs that I found was:

Driver-side chrome lining.

A shrout for the radiator.
Very rare find! A pair of vented thingy for the rear pillar.

Another rare find was the skyline rear panel! Bought it for a Kelab Kereta Lama member.

A gear set for driver's side window complete with two lever.

The cost? More than hundreds for all these small stuffs. Expensive? Yes. Am I satisfied? Yes! Why? When I bought my Bee, everything that I did with her were an adventure. It was like putting back together many pieces of Lego. One piece at a time. I dont have this memory with my Getz as everything is complete, just upgrading the looks.

Nothing to do today, and my neighbors were asking me to teach them to drive a manual car. So off we go to a nearby empty car lot.

I rarely shots my own car. LOL~

First driver? Ok Ok but still need more improvements.

Second driver. A bit clueless on the clutch and more wheel spins.

I wish there's a 13BT inside the engine bay. Hehehe.

Rest time. Broken plate number again? Yep! This is the third time!

My turn. Handling is OK, but the steering box didnt response as good as steering rack.

Manage to get it sideways, but I think the car need more proper treatment on handling.

Looks like finally Bee really is going to be bungkus this time. Was about to start the car this evening when I heard something weird bout the exhaust note. Sounds like a Boxer engine! Which mean, one of the pistons is not moving right? Already checked all the cables and yet it still doesnt solve anything. Har har har.

So what Im gonna do now? Short term? Overhaul or just go for a replacement engine. A cheap one. Hmhm. Anyway, as Stan's request, here's a pic of Bee today; with the damaged engine. Emm, Banana looks great in front without the flare. Need to slammed down too. Maybe next week for the rear. Front, I can adjust it anytime. Till then, see you again Bee.

Project halted! No mood to continue the project. No money. Everything had been assemble back and its time to bungkus the car. Anyway, I remove the flare coz the Watanabe's offset is +10. Beaten fender? I dont care. As long as it is Watanabe. :P

New guest in da house. Din's KE70. Was suppose to use the car for Bagan Lalang trip, but my parents didnt give the permission to go. So, the car was only for display in front of the house. Sigh. Really love the car. Bassy exhaust, driftable, light and nimble, very responsive and so on. Why lah I didnt bought it in the first place? 10x much better and worthwile compare to Bee. Hmhm.

I saw this rims few years ago and I had kept in my heart that one day I will buy this rims no matter what. And today, despite my car desperately need a body work, I bought the rims. Of course whenever unexpected purchase occurred, there's always Mok as a financial backup. Thanks my dear.

Anyway, what is it? Its the banana rims or the real name is RS Watanabe. Its always had been my dream rims. So whats the big deal? Well, it might not a big thing for you, but it does to me. Hehehe. Only 1pair, but I think it will look much better compare to my current rims. Will put it in front soon. 13 inch, 6.5jj and uknown offsets. Told ya, its common.

Rear had been painted with black anti rust paint. Im thinking of not putting the rear seat back.

Clearer picture of the RX7 immitation seat installed. Fits like a glove.

Purist I am? Noooo.. Hehehe. Anyway, I think I will just repair the whole firewall only.. That will cost me around RM1k I think. The holes on the floor? Lets just leave it just like that till the day where I have extra cash to spend on it. Sigh, there goes my engine budget.

Today, I went to Jeembo's Garage to fit in the bucket seat to replace the uncle leather seat. Hahaha. Well, Im glad there's less problem during the fitting. So here's some pics!

Done! Ngam despite the seat is suppose to be on the passenger side and its feels good during cornering. Drawback? Very hugging, kinda difficult to get in and out of the car, less room for elbow coz very close to the door and offset steering.. Huhu.

DIY : Stripper Project. Day 2.

Day 2 stripping project. My special guest of the day is Mok! Like it or not, she was helping me stripping the car; whole day! Hahaha. Lets see Mok in action.

Done! Was kinda rushing coz today Im driving to Johore Bahru.

More dark secret revealed! More holes from driver side.

And big holes from passenger's side.

So, the car will be left for a while as Im collecting some budget to repair the whole floor and others. Its either will be left for a long time, or if my 'business' is running good, it might be a whole makeover for the car. God knows.

DIY : Stripper Project. Muahahaha.

Stripping project started today! Waited for Jaguh to came around 2pm. Mok also came to help me and visiting her future mother in law~ Hahaha. So, lets get started:

My house will be messy for a few days. Sooo many unused parts in the dashboard will be in the box.

Moment of truth. Rear floor, no rust! Good.

Front? Well, looks good. Lets search deeper!

Sound deadening removal process.

After a while. Wire brush + manual way. Secret revealed!

While we were doing the floor, Mok did this with some help from AutoSol.

Dashboard had been removed. Dusty, messy, and a lot of unused parts. We will remove some parts to save a few kilos in the car.

Kinda dissapointed when I saw these holes that hide behind a carpet all this time.

The main culprit of the rust? Aircond panel. Yay~ Rain water was channeled inside the car through this hole. Need to seal this holes too.

Dashboard beam that need treatment too. Sigh.. Main problems of old Mazda; rusty firewall and aircond panel. Just like Megat of PlayHouse told me earlier.

Will continue the sound deadening removal tomorrow and maybe anti rust coat on Thursday maybe? Holes? I will send it to Play House Garage for a treatment. Anyway, thanks to Jaguh and Mok for helping me today. You guys are the best!

As promised, we went to Play House Garage today to get the sexy flare. Anyway, first of all; since the flare is for Starlet, it surely will not fit 100% if the worker didnt trim it. And for clearance issue, I had to cut the front fender a bit especially the left one, the damaged @ rusty side.

One hour of arguing with the worker (LOL~) and trimming, taraaa, the front fender had been done.

We had some clearance issue on the door for the rear so I decided to cut the fender into two so that half of em will attach to the door.

Done! I am very very satisfied with the job done by Play House Garage. Very neat and almost flawless job.

Anyway, here's a big project of Play House, a super bad condition Ford Cortina, and in the restoration progress. Roughly the cost of the bodyworks ( a LOT of) is RM8k+/-. And again, Im very impressed with the new floor made by them. It really looks like it was pressed by a machine. All was done by hand actually.

We went to nearby mamak after the job had been done. And guess who's showed today, another 808 user! His name is Fendy and his 808 is in very good condition. Im quite happy to found other 808 user.

DIY : Putting the spacers.

Bought this spacers few days ago. Was thinking of buying the old school spacers but I heard a lot of stories bout it so finally took the normal spacers. Its 8mm thick. Just to make my rear studs can be tighten with normal bolts, that's the reason Im buyin it.

Anyway, Mr.Jaguh Autoworks, check out this U-bolt highlighted in red color. Enough aa to put a few more steel plates of yours? Can be done or not?

Dirty drum brakes. Will repaint it this coming holiday.

And a preparation for a fender flare, I decided to raise the car a lil more bit so that it will looks more balanced. Will be going to Playhouse Garage tomorrow to fit in the wide fender. Argh, so excited!

Story : I Cant Stand The Heat Anymore!

Was sleeping till 1pm till Mok called me and ask if Im interested to go to watch Bohsia at cinema with her. Of course if its Mok that is asking, I cannot say No! or else she will be monyok all day. Hehehe. And since Bee had been sleeping for a few days, so we decided to go to Pavillion with Bee. And cleverly driving at 2pm on a big city with the sunlight just up your head and a bonus; Bee doesnt have an aircond yo, its like a moving sauna every time I decided to drive Bee.

Hahahahaha. And Im glad Mok doesnt complaint much bout that. Romantic isnt it dating on a moving sauna? Overall, Bohsia by Shamsul Yusof is better than Evolusi KL Drift. Wayyy much better. The movie reflect the truth about our new generation (that's include my generation too) in KL especially the Mat Rempit.

Anyway, after the movie, we rushed to get out of the city before its jammed or else Bee will overheat as usual. LOL. Another romantic moment if the car broke down somewhere in the KL eh? I suggest to Mok to tinted the rear window just like Din did to his KE70. And since its just RM40, Mok agree with it.

So, off we go to Sato Auto Accesories at Setiawangsa. Initially, I just want to opt 80% tinted for the rear, and the person in charge said why not tinted all the windows, so finally I opt the 50% tinted for all the windows. The reason I chosed the 50% is so that I have less problem with JPJ.

Done! This cheap tinted cost me Rm100 and with 2years warranty. Not bad for our Rm100 investment. And finally some privacy whenever Im driving after this.

Honestly, kinda lazy to post the updates coz whenever I think bout Bee, I will become nuts for a while What is in my mind? There's a lot of rust on the floor, there's a hole on the firewall, there's a hole on the pillar, there's a leaking on the bonnet, my temp is not regular, my brake is worn, my headlight is dim, and so on.

Maybe I need to relax one whole day and clear my head. Bee should be grateful (and please cost me LESS trouble. Hahaha) coz I really do care bout her. Anyway, some stuffs that I did to ease the pain in my eyes and for her to serve me better.

No more rust on the fender. Was using EverCoat hard putty plus a lot of sanding job. And I sprayed it with yellow too but still look bad. Nevermind, just a temporary coz wide fender coming soon.

And, finally a new brake shoe for the drum brake. Hahaha. The old brake had already detached. Very dangerous. The job was done at Jeembo's Garage.

New shoe; in! Note that the previous owner had changed the PCD of the car. From 110 to 114.3. Thank you Mr. Previous Owner! Also, the stud was changed few months ago to fit in the new rim. And spacer coming soon.

Sicked Bee was looking at me with its sad face. Yes, dont be sad. You will be overhauled soon and a lot of metal surgery coming too.

DIY : Lorry absorber!

Today, I went to Jaguh's house again. To get my new stuff. Taraa.. A pair of 3-tonne lorry absorbers for my rear absorber modification.

Less hassle this time when removing the OEM absorber. Jaguh still pissed off anyway. Hahaha. Shown here are the OEM and the lorry absorber. Luckily both are same size and design.

Plug & Play time!

Tigtening all the nuts. The hard part was on the left coz the fuel tanks hose is there too.

And guess what? I decided to remove one of the belts, the compressor belt. Car's feel very nimble now. Much better acceleration. I dont need aircond. :P

Overall, handling does really improves! But, the drawback is the level of comfort is almost '0' by now. I can feel everything that is in the road. LOL~ Urgh. Gotta avoid bad roads by now or else I might have a back pain soon.

Will be putting a lowering block soon~

Did this on last Friday. Kinda hard to find a free times nowadays. Too busy with exams and others.

Sand papers, can spray, tape, silicon sealant, and car cement.

Seal the rear windscreen, and I did this. Kinda fugly for now coz I didnt sand it yet! Back to busy life.. Hahaha. Anway, I rather it looks like this compare to rust that is eating my fender.

Looks good I think. Hehehe. Anyway, this is just for temporary coz Im getting myself a wide fender soon. Hehehe.

Just to wrapped up the ending of the project. Overall, its a fun moment for me doing DIY stuffs. And Im kinda pity to Jaguh coz he hurt himself while trying to remove the rusty bolt. Get an insurance man.. Hehehe.

I was expecting the car to be ready to roll back on the road today at 4pm! BUT, as usual, the more you dig, the more you found!

Rust that prevent Jaguh from removing the bolt.

Fed up, we finally decided to took the car to Jeembo's Garage and let the pro to do it. LOL. We took almost 5-6 hours, while they did it in less then 30minutes :P

I decided to raise the car a lil bit to half finger on the fender. Car's handling is 100 x better now. No more body roll. Will be stiffening the rear absorber soon.

On the way back, I felt something wrong with the left brake. It vibrates whenever I hit the brake. And also, just found out that the front rim actually is not round shape anymore. More to 'oval' shape now. So, will trouble shoot first what is the main problem, and will send the rim for a balancing. If the rim is not OK, I'll try to consult with Jeya then.

So, what is wrong? The disc brake from the adjustable is wrapped. That's all~

Another tiring day. Why?

From Sepang to Wangsa Maju, then off to Subang Jaya, then to Kajang, and finally back to Wangsa Maju. 8am to 12am!

Just took my car from the 'keeper' yesterday. I didnt leave my car at home nor at my college.

Radiator had been welded, service and painted. Looks good BUT the temp is still rising. Any idea where else should I check? Water pump is still working according to Mr. Jaguh.

Some update before a busy week. Exam again. Damn it.

Silicone sealant for rear window.

Using the black oxide paint as a anti-rust layer. Will be temporary for few years before the car will be sent to full body treatment.

And also, sealing the wiper area. Lately, the driver side will has a pond every time it's raining. Also coated with anti rust.

Yay! Bumble Bee now have a side mirror!

Putrajaya Revisit!

At 7pm, I asked Mok whether we are going to Putrajaya or not coz its kinda a big trouble for Bee to travel on heavy rain. Fogging problem, bald tyres, stained window, and etc. But, Mok said its not going to rain. So off we go!

5minutes later, heavy rain fall down! Hahaha. So, with fogging, leakage here and there, poor visibility and bla bla bla, we made it through. Arrived at Putrajaya 1hour later, we decided to go to Taman Warisan first for dinner while waiting for Jaguh to arrive. But he didnt arrived. So, we tapao for him and went to the same location (Palace of Justice, Putrajaya) for a re-photo shoot~

I thought by using a tripod, I will improve on the photography. But I dont think Im improving. Hmm, I think Im running out of ideas to shoot the same car over and over again. Hahaha.

Nevertheless, sharing is caring.

After Jaguh and his friend left around 6pm, I decided to sent 808 to car wash. Initially just wanna clean the exterior since her last wash was..... 4-6 weeks ago perhaps~

So, the macha at the car wash offer me RM15 for interior cleaning which is to me kinda bargain, so I asked them to clean up interior also. Its easy for them to clean it up coz the interior is leather.

Super dirty interior.

Anyway, what I really love bout this car when Im driving it is, anywhere I went, there must be at least few persons attracted to the car :P

Jaguh told me that day at UiTM (he was driving 808 back to his home, while Mok and me went home with Myvi), there were few kids shouting to their parents, "Abah abah, tengok tu, Bumble Bee Bumble Bee". Muehehe.

While waiting, there are 4persons looking around inside the car while the machas cleaning the interior.

Taraa.. The magic of a lazy person.

Now its shiny and interior looks like new :P
Anyway, if someone found a 'Bee' air freshener, could you please update me where I can buy it. If possible, I want it to look like in the Transformers movie.

Oh, good news is, a Retro Syndicate forummer wanna scrap his brother's 808, so he kindly wanna let go any stuffs that I want. He's staying at Kuala Pilis, and I might be going to visit the car this Friday. Muahaha.

Lets see some of the stuffs that I want:
*The nose cone and its headlamp (Square lamp model).
*Tail lamp.
*Driver's window and all the window's components.
*Front fenders.
*Crown gear (Yes, if I get it, I will weld it :P).

808 at Putrajaya..

Last week went to see my car. I gave it to Jaguh so he can take care of her. Im too busy with exam last week. Sooooo, some lousy pictures as usual due to night shot. Taken with bare hand, no tripod what so ever.. I will be going to shoot my car again next time. Im bringing a tripod next time. Hehehe.

Tomorrow Jaguh gonna come to my college to repair his broken gear box & related, and YES! 808 gonna be with me XD Im happy and excited coz almost 1 week didnt drive the car. Hehehe. Haih, anyway, due to some unexpected repair on 808, my budget on the adjustable need to be hold first. Hmmm, hopefully Wadi didnt sold it to someone else. Hmmmm... Money money.. Where are you? Come to me!!

The location? Putrajaya as usual. I love the place. Nice building, nice surrounding, no cars, and thanks to Mok and her friend for keepin me company that day..

Find one girl that can adapt to your interest and you both will be fine. Hahaha.

Mok is 'hanging' around.LOL. She's getting bored day by day I think..

Hmm, Im looking forward to see this car in a "complete" form one day. Man size + dished rims, engine conversion ( Possible engine? 13B, 4AGE, 5k, A15 or maybe un-legalize it by putting CA18DET or SR20DET), full body work treatment, new paint, re-clean & complete working interior, slammed to the ground, and DRIFT!

I'd say this car will take around 5-6 years (Hey, I am 25-26 years old that time and married perhaps!?) to be 'perfect'. So, now? Need to study harder so that I can get a good job one day. Ahaks! And to fullfill my wish list for this car.

Lets hope the engine can bear this long years or otherwise? I will sell the car or my last option is to ask some financial help from my parents which it will be not so handsome on my records.

For now, Im glad with the car's condition. And thanks to Jaguh for taking care of my car. Hehehe. I always owe you big time. One day you'll get the rewards for the good deed.

Late update on 808.

Long time since my last update... So Jaguh had changed new altenator, cable plug, replace my clutch fan with a new direct fan, radiator cap, and a DIY chrome radiator tunnel (what the hell was the name??!)

As usual, keep diggin and you found out more problems! So what now? It seems that my radiator is leaking. Hahaha. Nevermind. Will repair it soon.

Sometimes I do feel like selling the car when problems occur again and again. Again, this is because of short funds, and I dont have time to fix the car's problems as Im in college yo, bla bla bla..

So some updates again before class starts tomorrow:

Longer studs. Will be putting spacers soon.

Remove rear seat to see the floor. So far so good. No rust as previous owner had already fix the floor.

Fender finally had been rolled. Hmm, not symmetrical though. Left and right are different. So need to fix it back after had been slammed.

Fucked up area during rolling. Previous owner took a shortcut during bodywork. Sprayed the damaged area to sooth my eyes or else I will WANT to fix it during this exam week.

Whats more? Yesterday brought it to my college before the car fucked up again in the same night. So need to waste more of my times to send it back home and pass to Jaguh. So today Jaguh took the car to see what is wrong this time.

He suspected the alternator is ready to be changed as the engine sound's just like a car running with one removed spark plug. Talking bout a boxer sound. Hehehe. Maybe need to replace the cable plug and so on that related.

Plus lately my engine temp is very irregular, so Jaguh said the radiator cap is the problem source. Plus a 32 years old radiator fan that already soft. Hmmm, need the fan housing too to cool down the temp as Jaguh's KEtam temp is now steady after he changed back his belt fan + housing from an electric fan.

So how to fix? What the hell. I trade with Jaguh. Hahaha, I mean I took his car for this week. 808 will be left to rot at his house until I got more $$$$ to replace the fucked up parts. Huargh..

Lol. Its nothing.. Just a little update while my car is inside the workshop. Why? Changing the short stud to a longer stud, Toyota's stud, 1.5mm thread? What the hell is that? Hahaha. Was listening to Jaguh when he said that, so just type it here then. Hehehe. No pics at the moment.

Just a little update,

Jaguh found it! Rubber for my door so there will be no moist in the driver side. Guess how old is this stuff? 30years! Still with the original package.

And Ayip, Jeembo's crew changing my studs. Rolling fender will be done tomorrow, so I just leave the car there.

Emm, finally; my last day at home. Just arrived at my hostel. Sigh. Kinda miss my Muzda already. Hehehe. Geram coz a few minor stuff didnt manage to settle yet.

Met with Josh last night to pick up my rims. Bought the rims from Jeyaraj. Very patient and good attitude seller. And cleaned it up in the same night. So this morning, go to nearby tyre shop to fit in the new rim. Looks OK, but as usual, more problems encountered~

Stud toooooo short!! Need to go to Jeembo's this weekend to change to a longer stud. Problems only occur for rear rims.

And of coz, with offset and wide rim, fender will be eating the tyres. Damn~ As expected, so will refer to Jeembo also to roll the fender.

The past 3days, this is what we had been doing.

First, the fucked up speedometer that took Jaguh 2days to solve and fix it.

I bought a new speedo cable, yet the speedometer didnt move. So Jaguh removed it, and found out that the gear already jam~

Jaguh's solution? Hahaha. RXZ speedometer! Yes, the rempit's favourite bike!

Emm, looks nice.

Not really. The cable cant move if it is bent, so need to rotate the speedometer to make it work. Hahaha. Plus, while testing on the road, if other peoples are cruising at 40km/h, my speedo is at 20km/h! That mean, if the speed limit is 110km/h, I must travel at 55km/h according to my speedo! Hahaha. And the best; my speedometer can record till 360km/h!! Why? The limit is 180km/h, 180 x 2 = 360! Haha.

While waiting Jaguh to fix the speedo, I was doing some paint job.

Mazda 808 Ad on year 1976!

Was checking out www.retrosyndicate.com, and found out that there are some 808 ad posted by forummer Motard. Thanks for sharing bro. So here's some of his finding, Mazda 808 ad during 1976!!

Damn nostalgic. Gosh, Im in love with old cars now! I wish I can go back to 70's and try to rescue a lot of classic car. Errr, I think Im using a classic car. Hahaha. I dont want people to call me 'Amar 808', sounds gay to me. And definitely not 'Amar classic'. More gay! Argh, better do more 'modern' touch on Bee before people call me 'classic'!

From the ad, I found out that the company claimed that 808 FC is low, and I found out its quite true. Its almost a week, I just fill em up with RM20 fuel. Till now, I just used half of it. Emm... Nice~

Since today is still a holiday due to Chinese New Year, most of the shop are closed, thus no new parts cant be bought. So Jaguh and me just did whatever we can using whatever we have.

Bought the shift boot at DCM member while wipers, we 'found' it on a scrap-condition car on the roadside. LOL. And new bosskit for the Momo steering.

Classic looking. Sorry, I dont like it though.

After upgrading. Much better. Bucket still seating in my room. Waiting time to be transfered.

Voltage stabilizer in. I do have the grounding cable, but Jaguh didnt know where to put all the 5points!

The ugly rocker cover. Removed by Jaguh as Im 0 on the engine's parts.

Sand, sand, and more sanding! Plus few times using the dirt remover.

Holes behind sticker! Damn lazy previous owner.

Grind all the way till no rust.

Hole is covered by glueing a metal sheet.

Cementing job done. Notice the marker dot on the hood. Marking for the stripe paint job soon.

Today I went to Jeembo to checkout on Bumble Bee. Emm, much better compare to my 1st time in the car. So far so good. Just the timing chain noise due to loose chain perhaps. And.... 4 GEAR MAN! FUCK! HAHAHA! I thought its 5-speed! While I was testing, I cant find the fifth gear. LOL! Pickup is very good. Wheel spin easily on 1st gear. But temperature kinda pointing to H so gotta refer back to Jaguh for more info. Still waiting for the grant to be change name. Emm.. I guess thats all. I can take the car on Friday. Yay!

And Im looking for a much better looking rims. Still dealing with Jeyaraj of Retro Syndicate forum. Emmm... Come and guess the rims! Jaguh and Mok are forbid to join..

Hint : If its ON, the rim will be... HAHAHA. Keep it secret 1st~ If ON!

Looks like the drum brake had been removed. New shoes perhaps. Got minor rust about to pop in if you look carefully.

New clutch going in. No rust down here.

Emm, messy wiring.. Engine looks ok to me.

Door and window had been fixed.

808's Interior.

I bet you guys are wondering hows the car's interior looks. I still dont have time to go to Jeembo to peek-a-boo to see whats the updates on BumbleBee. Emm, maybe this Thursday or Friday. Argh, its getting hard for me, thinking bout the car everyday. It is my first car, with my name on it, my guts to gamble with my luck when buying it, and my first stuff that I have a full responsiblity on it.

For a cheapo price that I get for the car, below RM5k ( Price is secret :P), I got a car that had been done the bodywork, so rust is at minimum level and mostly at exterior, new floor ( How do I say it "Lantai baru sudah buat?"), so there is less problem I need to concern bout more rust and holes :P.

And, how bout the interior? Full leather rewrap inside. Seat, roof, door panel, the pillar, everything had been refurbished! For that price, it does make me nuts bout getting it despites I dont have any interest with 808. Seriously, and with some poison from Jaguh, Jeembo and the rest of KelabKeretaLama members, I bought it. I am stupid.

So.. I am here, the car is still at the workshop. I guess, new clutch is going in, full regular service, new brake system, aircond that will be functioning, new rims; 13' mangkuk, and most of small problems will be fixed. Hopefully.

So my plan for the car? As for now, I just want it to be drift spec. I dont care if the engine is standard :P. Emm.. So will be slamming the car soon, low and stiff. The stiffer the better for me :P . I wanna lock the axles, but I need to get some advices first as the car's spareparts kinda rare. Emmm, subframe RX7 from Yasin perhaps? Bucket seat will be transfered from Getz, as well as the steering. Harness also perhaps.

Emm, I guess thats all for now~ Sigh~

This blog will be dedicated for my Mazda 808 journey. Hopefully it will become as I have plan, and hopefully the car will behave. Cheers for now.

As for the car, it still in the Jeembo's Garage. Waiting for the grant to be swap owner's name, insurance, road tax, minor repair, new clutch, full services, new rims, and etc. Basically I didnt touch it yet. Emm, I can feel it will be a burdon, but who cares!

Future plans? I dont have one. LOL~
